Measure from the middle of each hole
For a pull with two screws, the important measurement is center to center. I’d write that number down for every cabinet type because older kitchens can surprise you.
Look at proportion and style
A pull can be beautiful in a close-up photo and look much too small on a wide drawer. I like to photograph the cabinets straight on and compare the pull measurements against the actual door and drawer widths.
Order one first
If possible, I would buy one sample before ordering a whole kitchen. Hold it in place, test the grip and make sure the screws fit the cabinet thickness. One extra trip is better than opening thirty packages that need to go back.
